Movies that relate to Biomystical Christian theology

God's written a movie called "The Life we're in" starring you and I and all our friends and neighbors all around the globe. Be on the set at casting call or miss your chance to play the grandest of roles, your life story.

Movies show us the Divine Dramas we are all players in in this wonderous play called Life

.

"End of the Spear" and "Beyond the Gates of Splendor".  At the top of the list of movies recommended here are two about the same subject, a true-life story of New Tribes missionaries in South America making first contact with an extremely ferocious tribe known and feared as killers up and down the Ecuador jungle river where the story takes place. The movie is called "End of the Spear" and its accompanying documentary is called "Beyond the Gates of Splendor". This is a true story of missionary work at its most dangerous and demanding level. But it chronicles an unforgetable Christian epic, a story of murder and redemption almost beyond imagination. This story is the essense of the Christian message. This story is especially dear to me as my aunt Edna was one of these types of brave missionaries in another tragic first contact episode in Bolivia, that story also mentioned in the documentary.

"Deja Vu", starring Vanessa Redgrave and two unknowns. Great movie for demonstrating "Synchronicity" phenomena.

"The 13th Floor", starring my favorite young goddess Gretchen Mol who starred in another movie that lead to the "Qualawaloo" movie screenplay about the Indian Island Massacre and its impact on the tribal people I worked with. Sigh, another long story...The 13th Floor is good for putting one face to face with the possibility that our "world" is not the highest reality, in fact, it may be Maya, illusion, and the Play Shakespeare said it was as well as many mystics before him.

"The Rapture" starring Mimi Rogers. This is the Ultimate Gnostic movie that shows the uncompromising judgment of the moral Gnostic against immorality, even when immorality is ordered by YHWH, the traditional God of Judeo-Christianity. It shows too that a mother's unconditional love for her children is stronger than Yahweh's highly conditional love of humankind.

"Beyond Rangoon", starring Patricia Arquette. In this film you will see Burmese democracy leader Ang San Su Kyi, one of the women of our times who carries the new Spirit of Christ in feminine form. Like Gandhi, Ang San Su Kyi follows the example of non-violent protest inspired by Jesus. But unlike the time of Jesus, the Spirit of Christ in feminine form can overcome evil in direct confrontation. See how she does it. It is amazing! Men will not fight the new Spirit of Christ in feminine form whereas they always will fight it in masculine form.

"To Live!" and "The Road Home", two superb Chinese films by the same director, Zhang Yimou. In these two films you will two of the best film portrayals of how the Kingdom of God works in operation. The first film shows it in operation within family life. The second one shows it in caring community life. These are truly wonderous, beautiful films that will touch your heart.

"Shane". This epic archetypal Western shows the Code of the West at its best. Without codes of honor men eventually destroy their relationships with others.
