While I lived briefly in Carmel Valley and Carmel trying to get work as a night auditor I came in contact with one of the people who were planning for the Fort Ord conversion just north of Monterey. I told him about my communiversity ideas, how a school could be developed that was focused on community, all aspects of building cooperative community in conjunction with ecological specialization. He liked my ideas and then I left to go back to Humboldt County. His plans, including mine were passed over by Monterey powers that be and now I guess its the usual scene where Fort Ord used to be: subdivisions, malls, and everything but an ecological learning community.
I also submitted an eco-community proposal to Clint Eastwood's planned development above Carmel and it too was never accepted, too "ecological", meaning less profit for developers including Clint.
