Biomystical Christian interpretations

of the some of the key symbolic imagery of the Revelation of St. John:

The very first thing to understand about Revelation is that it is a Vision and uses symbolic imagery to convey its spiritual messages. In other words, trying to make symbolic imagery "fit" exact historical events is impossible. The second thing to remember is that John the Revelator presents a schizophrenic picture of Jesus and Christianity, e.g. the "Lamb of wrath" and all the vengeance of God against sinners which negates everything Jesus taught about forgiveness of sins. If God can't forgive, if Jesus can't forgive, why should we? Revelation's Jesus contradicts John's God is love. The third important thing to remember about John the Revelator, in fact the whole Johannine school that produced the "John" gospel, letters, and Revelation, is that they are anti-Judaism, anti-the Jewish god, and in Revelation, anti-Paul. But in Revelation it is all done through symbolism.

Chapter 9's 5th angel is a Lucifer type who falls from heaven, the angel of the bottomless pit being "ruin" Abaddon, with another name that is Paul in symbolism, Apollyon, i.e., a Paul lion. There is more symbolic attack on Judaism in Rev. chapter 13 which is explained in the commentaries on that chapter below. All the "3rd" destruction symbolism in Revelation has to do with attacking the pagan Babylonian religious calendar which Judaism accepted in part.

The Babylonian Year was divided into three seasons, each represented by an animal, lion, goat, serpent or dragon. It corresponded with its third divisions with their view of the Goddess as a Triple Goddess, Three-in-One sometimes or three separate goddesses. When tribal nations and empires fought each other, the winners often imposed their national religious calendars on the vanquished. The third of the world and people is the Dragon third of the Babylonian calendar year being attacked by Christian monotheism. In Chapter 13 and found elsewhere in Revelation, the Babylonian/Jewish Sacred Year of seven years is attacked with the symbolism of cutting it, the dragon, in half to equal 3 and a half years, or 72 months. This does double duty as an an attack on the Egyptian pagan god system with their 72 gods in their pantheon. The 5 month symbolism in Rev 9 is referring us back to the 5th angel who opens the bottomless pit and there are 7 angels, for the seven ruling planets of the pagan and Jewish Sacred Year of seven years.

Here are some specific symbolic interpretations found in the Revelation of St. John.

Revelation 1:7

"Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him.." and Matthew 24:27- "For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be" and Matthew 24:30- "Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."

These images are taken from Daniel's vision (Dan 7:13):

"I was watching in the night visions, and behold, One like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven!". Daniel had these visions at night, therefore, two symbolic meanings can be interpreted:

The first is traditional with Daniel's vision of the "clouds of heaven" being like storm clouds with thunder and lightning. However, this interpretation is made with knowledge that Yahweh was originally a Storm God himself who was described exactly like two other Middle Eastern Storm Gods, the Babylonian Marduk and Yahweh's arch-rival, the Canaanite god, Baal. All three were "Riders on the Clouds" in charge of the winds and the rain these dry desert dwellers were utterly dependent on for their crop harvests (See Dt 33:26, Ps 68:4 and 104:3, and Isaiah 19:1).

The second interpretation is The "clouds of heaven" he saw were the stars of the Milky Way. Like the sun and the moon, stars "move" east to west across the sky and are seen by everyone everywhere unlike earthly clouds which blow any way the wind does and are fairly localized events.

Gospel writers and traditional Christian interpretation have always assumed the "clouds of heaven" in Daniel's vision were atmospheric clouds but if you get outside of city lights and smog, look at the Milky Way on a clear night and you'll see what Daniel meant as he beheld the night sky.

The constellations of the Zodiac and the Bright and Morning Star (Venus) are where we will see the signs of the Second Coming. Gen 1:14-

"Then God said, 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years;". (See Lights in Rev 5:1 below).

These are the End Times of Piscean Christianity, and Judaism, Islam, and all Holy Land religions based on God the Father only. This is also the beginning of the New Age of Aquarius and the Fishes and fishermen of traditional Christianity will be replaced by the Water Bearer, bearing New Living Waters.

Consider Mark 14:13- "So He sent out two of His disciples and said to them, 'Go into the city, and a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him. And wherever he goes in, say to the master of the house, the Teacher says, 'Where is the guest room in which I may eat the Passover with My disciples?' Then he will show you a large upper room, furnished and prepared; there make ready for us." Mark is definitely using symbolic language here as women were the ones who normally carried water.

The "house" the Water Bearer shows actually represents the "house" of Aquarius but because it is the time of Pisces the world is not ready for Christ's message.

Therefore, one of the twelve (signs of the Zodiac) betrays the Christ and the real New Age and real Kingdom of Heaven to give us and history the distorted, schizophrenic vision of Jesus Christ as God's sign of Love, Mercy, and Forgiveness incarnate yet who is also at the same time, God's Lamb of wrath sending anyone and everyone who doesn't swear allegiance to Him to eternal Hell and damnation.

"In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." The "many mansions" in God's house in Heaven are the twelve "houses" of the Zodiac.

Rev 1:8- "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord, "who is and was and who is to come, the Almighty."

Plutarch reports that a 7th century inscription from a Temple of Isis at Sais read "I am all, that which has been, is, and shall be."

Rev 1:12-16- "One like the Son of Man" and the "Ancient of Days"

"Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girdled about the chest with a golden band. His head and His hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like the flame of fire; His feet were like fine brass as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters."

The menorah lamps burned pure white cotton wads soaked with refined olive oil, or "chrism" the root for the word "Christ". "One like the Son of Man" here is actually a supernaturalized description of a lit menorah candelabra combined with the brass burnt offering altar.

Rev 1:16

"He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength."

Isaiah 42:4- "He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His law."

Isaiah 49:1- "Listen, O coastlands, to Me, and take heed, you peoples from afar! The Lord has called Me from the womb; from the Matrix of my My mother He has made mention of My name. And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; In the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me, And made Me a polished shaft; In His quiver He has hidden Me."

The coastlands referred to in these two Isaiah chapters were the coastlands of the Levant. Other verses in these two Isaiah chapters show up again in the Gospels as prophesies of the coming of Jesus, inferring that He was sent not only to the Jews but to the Gentiles as well. The question now is, were the the coastlands in the Levant the ones God had in mind as it put these prophetic images in Isaiah's mind?

Following the Spirit trail of God through the Dove of Christ which crossed the sea to find land for Noah, which came down from the sky as a symbol of God's blessing on Jesus, and which crossed the sea again as the name of Christopher Columbus (=Bearer of Christ-"Christopher", and "Dove", Columbus), I think the Holy One has created a spiritual bridge to the New World.*

I follow synchronicity signs that tie my life with religious motifs. I live on what is known as "the Lost Coast" of California and my community, the Mateel Nation, is a West Coast community. My spiritual life is guided by the Spirit and I try to follow the teachings of Jesus as best I can. I am known in the Mateel for working with local Native Americans trying to recover some of their thousands of acres of lost ancestral land. ("In His quiver He has hidden me").

* For a decade now, my environmental and social change work with the tribe has centered around Headwater Forest held by the Pacific Lumber Co. who's home base is the town of Scotia. In synchronistic fashion, "Scotia" turns out to mean "the Dark One" in Greek mythology. Scotia was another appellation of the Goddess Aphrodite who was known as Ishtar by the Babylonians, Astarte by the Canaanites, and Ashtoreth by the Hebrews. In 1998 I received the Vision of Christ Josephine that really cemented the spiritual link between the Old World and New.

The Meaning of the White Stone in Rev. 2:17



   Canaanite "High Place" at Gezer

"He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it."

This is the meaning of Revelation 2:17’s "white stone" with a new name written on it. First of all, this passage is one of the riddles in Revelation to test anyone who believes they have been given spiritual knowledge about the symbolic meanings in the Revelation and the Bible generally.

To find the answer you need to go back to the Old Testament from which almost all the symbology of the New Testament is derived. But because we are separated by nearly 2000 years from the times of the writing of John's Revelation and the Gospels, we need to go to historical sources of the spiritual context of the times of these writings. That context in the O.T. is often one in which the prophets of the God of Israel, are fighting against the backsliding Israelite leaders and followers of the pagan religious cults surrounding Israelite communities.

So some knowledge of these pagan religions is essential for figuring out the symbolism used by both Old and New Testament writers. Some knowledge of the Great Goddess religions of the Canaanites, Mesopotamians, Egyptians, and Greeks is necessary to understand the "white stone" symbolism of Rev 2:17. The historical context in which John has written his Revelation is Asia Minor under Roman rule at the end of the first century and still heavily influenced by nearby Greek culture and mythology.

Please look at John 1:51; "And He said to him, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man."

Now look at Genesis 28:11-22

"So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep. Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.

And behold, the Lord stood above it and said: "I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to your and your descendants. Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your see all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.

Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, "Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it." And he was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!" Then Jacob rose early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put at his head, and set it up as a pillar, and poured oil on top of it. And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city had been Luz previously.

Then Jacob made a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on, so that I come back to my father’s house in peace, than the Lord shall be my God. And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You."

"Bethel" means "House of EL". God's new name is actually a return to the meaning of His old name of EL which was buried under Yahweh when the Hebrews took control of Canaan after wiping out the Canaanites and their religion except for stealing their God Most High.

"Luz" is Arabic from Aramaic for "almond" and a particular "bone of the spine". In Jewish Midrash tradition "luz" is the bone of the spine out of which "man is to be re-fashioned in the world to come." In the Jewish Talmud the almond's mystical characteristics are ascribed to "luz". Ancient Egyptians considered the "osirus sacrum" in the spine a source of seminal fluid. ("Sed" was the name of Osiris' Festival Day, a connection to the Seder, or Jewish Passover commemorative).

The similar sounding Greek root word to the Arabic Luz is "luece" meaning "white" and Leucothea was one of the Greek names for the White Goddess, the Moon Goddess, also known as the "White Goddess of Bread"(consider Jn 6:35's Jesus--"I am the bread of life").

Leucothea was one of Aphrodite's appellations, similar to the Babylonian Great Goddess Ishtar, or Astarte of the Canaanites and Ashtoreth of the Hebrews and Isis of the Egyptians. Leucothea's emblematic trees were white poplars and the almond tree, symbol of wisdom.

White poplars, terebinth and oaks were trees of the "high places", the sacred groves of the Goddess cults, where pillars and altars were placed for worship. See Hosea 4:13 for the Yahweh prophet's typical protest against these sacred sites.

Much of the Jacob story in Genesis involves his father-in-law Laban. "Laban" means "white" in Hebrew. In the Genesis account, Laban first tricks Jacob into working for him seven extra years for the hand of Laban's daughter, Rachel, who Jacob desired most. Then Jacob tricks Laban by increasing the strength and size of Laban's flocks allotted to him using magic derived directly from the surrounding pagan Goddess cults.

Jacob uses white wood strips of poplar, almond and chestnut trees in a magic ritual to strengthen his allotted flocks. See Gen 30:37-43. The almond tree is closely related to the peach tree and like the "stone" kernel within a peach, the almond fruit or nut is referred to as a "stone" in the dictionary. There is also a traditional usage of the term "almond" to describe the stone a lapidariest carves into a gem.

The almond plays a significant part in Hebrew religious symbolism as it did for surrounding Goddess cults from which the Israelites borrowed freely. Aaron's magic rod sprouts almonds in Num 17:8. The Hebrew's seven-armed candelabra (really oil lamps), the menorah, had its cups shaped like almonds as prescribed by God through Moses. See Ex 25:33,34, and 37:19,20. This connects the almond symbolism with John's description of "one like the Son of Man" in Rev 1:12-16 and Daniel's "Ancient of Days" in Dan 7:9,10.

All the references to "white" and special covenant stones in the Jacob story point to Jacob's pillow and pillar stone at the place named Luz which he changed after his vision to Bethel as being Revelation's symbolic "white stone" with a "new name" written on it. Luz, the sacred site of the Canaanite Goddess cult of Belili, the Great Goddess, who in Greek mythology corresponds to the Titaness, Phyllis, who was transformed into an almond tree.

Bible readers know the masculinized version of "Belili" as "Bel" and "Baal". But underlying the name conversion story in Genesis 28 is the fact that it was at a sacred site of the Goddess that Jacob finds "the gate of heaven".

Jeremiah 1:11,12; "Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying ‘Jeremiah, what do you see?’ And I said, ‘I see a branch of an almond tree.’ Then the Lord said to me, ‘You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word."

After my new Jacob's Ladder revelation in July,2008, I can see how focusing on one set of symbolic meanings, here focusing on "whiteness" connecting Jacob religion with the Goddess and missing the true revelation that came after Father Jesus guides me.

Rev 3:7

"These things say He who is holy, He who is true, 'He has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens.'"

The key of David refers to the key to opening the seven seals. See Rev 5:1-5 below.

Rev 4:6- "Something like a sea of glass"

"Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal." Rev 15:2- "And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire; and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb".

Solomon's Temple had a huge laver called "the Sea" for the Levite priests to wash their hands and feet with before offering burnt sacrifices. At first I thought this "Sea" as a symbolic object actually represented the Goddess Asherah's realm of power in pagan temples as Goddess of the Sea. However, now that I've since learned that Yahweh began life as the Canaanite god of the sea, Yamm, I think the Temple "sea" may represent Yahweh as Yamm.

Solomon's "Sea" was made of bronze, like the earlier tabernacle laver which was made from the bronze mirrors of serving women (Ex 38:8). It was probably very shiny itself and the still water, "smooth as glass" as the old saying goes about a perfectly calm sea, within the Temple "Sea" probably acted like a mirror to the priests using it as it reflected the fire from burnt offerings.

And the singers of the song of Moses? See 2 Chron 5:12- "And the Levites who were the singers, all those of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, stood at the east end of the altar, clothed in white linen, having cymbals, stringed instruments and harps...".

Rev 5:1-5: The Seven Seals

"And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, 'Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose the seals?' And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open the and read the scroll, or to look at it. But one of the elders said to me, 'Do not weep, Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals."

Revelation's John has the slain Jesus as the sacrificial Lamb of God open the scrolls. But now you can open them yourself because the strong angel Ariel, who's name means "Lion of God", as well as representing spiritual Jerusalem, "the City where David dwelt" (Isaiah 29:1) has shown Stephen how to open the seals, and he will show you:

"The Lord also will roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; the heavens and earth will shake;", (Joel 3:16), and "Look among the nations and watch--Be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told to you."

-Habakkuk 1:5 developed from Isaiah 29:14, the "Ariel" chapter.

"The whole vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is literate, saying 'Read this, please'; and he says, 'I cannot, for it is sealed. Then the book is delivered to one who is illiterate, saying, 'Read this, please'; and he says, 'I am not literate'. Therefore the Lord said; 'Inasmuch as these people draw near to Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men, therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work, among this people, a marvelous work and a wonder; for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden."

Matthew 15:7: "Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying..." and here Jesus quotes the Isaiah passage above.

The archangel for the New Age, the New Millennium, is Ariel* who guides me in my spiritual mission. Anyone who follows this symbolic chain of meaning and revelation, from Christ through Ariel, through Stephen, can open up all seven seals. Ariel is more than the Lion of Judah, Ariel is the Lion of God, and Spiritual Jerusalem, and the Messenger of Peace, and the Hearth of the Altar of God where the sacrifices were made. These are all the meanings of the name of the angel Ariel.

Since all the sevens in Revelation are really symbols for the seven days of the Jewish Week which is actually based on the earlier Sumerian-Babylonian Week that was itself based on the seven planetary rulers, all you really need do to open the seals up is get up in the morning and look at the new day. Gen 1:14- "Then God said, 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years'";

Each day is "sealed" from the next with the rising and setting of the "lights"--the sun, the moon, and the stars. "He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens" refers to the fact that no one can change the dawning or opening of each day nor the evening and closing of each night.

Rev 6:2-8

"And I looked, and behold, a white horse. And he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer."

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are again borrowed mythology from the Babylonians. These myths were introduced into Hebrew biblical symbolism when they were held in exile in Babylon. At the Babylonian New Year festival when the Sun-god Marduk, was believed to be in Hell fighting the sea-monster Tiamat, a chariot drawn by four horses was let loose in the streets of Babylon to symbolize the chaotic state of the world during the demise of the crown or confusion over who rules--Ishtar (the Moon) or Marduk (the Sun). (See more on the Marduk and Tiamat connection below at Rev 13 and Rev 20).

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, ("Apocalypse" meaning the revealing of what was previously hidden), represent the powers of mankind to turn God's will into victory or destruction. The White Horsemen represents Life itself and conquers, the Red Horseman makes war, the Black Horseman judges, and the Pale Horseman is Death itself. The conquering rider of the white horse in Rev 6:2 becomes Christ ("For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself"--John 5:26) in Rev 19.

Symbolically the four horses themselves represent the four directions which refers them back to the Garden of Eden where God placed cherubim and a flaming sword at the east of Eden to guard the way to the Tree of Life. Entry into the Garden can only come from the East. That's why Matthew has the Magi or wise men from the East see Jesus' star in the East, which is none other than the Morning Star or Venus.

The Goddess is symbolized by the white horse* which not only the first horseman of the Apocalypse rides (Christ) but also Marduk, the earlier Babylonian Savior and Son of the Goddess was said to have rode when he slew Tiamat, Ishtar's representative creature of Her power, (the Moon's power) over the Great Sea. Slipping into ego city, I cannot help but notice the synchronicity signs in the white horse and rider symbolism connecting this writer with the Spirit of Christ on the white horse. I follow the Spirit of Christ as best I can. My interpretation of the meanings of John's Revelation "ride" on showing the hidden Goddess influence in biblical symbolism. My name Stephen is derived from "stephnos" the Greek word John used for the crown given to the white horse rider of Rev 6:2. And I have a bow of sorts, the Rainbow Bible. But as for conquering, that I leave to the Spirit of Christ.

* White for the Moon, Her primary heavenly symbol--see more at the Great Goddesses chapter.

Rev 6:14

"Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place."

This image comes from Isaiah 34:4- "All the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled up like a scroll;".

The symbolic meaning is that patriarchal religions and the age of their power and glory that is anchored in their words written in scrolls about God the Father at war with the Goddess side of the Holy One of Heaven and Earth, will be dissolved by the power of the Apocalypse, the revealing of what was hidden.

These are the End Times of patriarchal religions and the beginning of religion based on the true Holy One in which God and Goddess are united in holy wedlock and therefore now whole, complete, perfect, and wholly One.

The word "Holy" is derived in our language from same root word for "healing" and that is what is taking place as we heal our broken understanding of God until we know God is both God and Goddess and beyond.

The Seven Churches

Each church symbolizes something lacking in spiritual commitment except for the church in Philadelphia. For example, the church of the Laodiceans is advised not to be hold or cold, scolded for bragging of riches, and in need of white garments so they wouldn't be naked and ashamed. Laodicea was known in ancient times for banking, black wool garments, and luke warm waters in their local hot springs.

Rev 10:9: John eats the little book

"And I went to the angel and said to him, 'Give me the little book.' And he said to me, 'Take it and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth."

Ezek 2:9,10, 3:3- "Now when I looked, there was a hand stretched out to me; and behold, a scroll of a book was in it. Then He spread it before me; and there was writing on the inside and on the outside, and written on it were lamentations and mourning and woe. And He said to me, 'Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you.' So I ate it, and it was in my mouth like honey in sweetness."

Ezekiel's scroll that he eats is full of woes but tastes sweet. John's book tastes sweet but is bitter in his stomach. The meaning is that Judaism's Mosaic Law is harsh but good for Jews according to Ezekiel but for John with his anti-Jewish stance, Mosaic Law really is bitter after it's digested even if it has the sweetness of God's word.

Rev 11:3-12-The Two Witnesses

"And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty day, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth. And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth, and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner. These have the power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophesy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire.

Now when they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. And their bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three and a half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves.

And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth. Now after the three and a half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, 'Come up here.' And they ascended to heaven in a cloud and their enemies saw them."

The two witnesses who work the miracles and torment those living in the earth and who are not put into graves are Moses and Elijah. God buried Moses in Moab "but no one knows his grave to this day"-Deu 34:6. God took Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind.

The two witnesses motif is represented by the Moses/Aaron team and the prophets Elijah and Elisha. Luke in chapter 4:25 has Jesus connect Elijah with the 1260 days or 42 months motif-"But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was great famine throughout the all the land."

Interestingly, the two witness, two prophet motif is repeated again with John the Baptist and Jesus. See also below at Rev 13 for more on John's anti-Jewish negative portrayal of the Moses/Aaron team that also fits to some degree the Elijah/Elisha team.

Rev 12:1

"Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars."

This is the image of the Queen of Heaven, the Goddess disguised in the clothing of the Sun, or God the Father, who stands above the Moon, the primary symbol of the Goddess.

The twelve stars represent the twelve disciples and the twelve tribes of Israel which in their turn were symbolic carryovers from the Babylonian-Chaldean Zodiac based twelve month calendar for the year, just as the twenty-four elders of Rev 4:4 represent the twenty-four hours of the day.

Fours, Sevens, Twelves, and Twenty-fours in Revelation and Christian symbolism represent the four seasons of the year (also the four directions of the compass), seven days of the Holy Week, twelve months of the year, and twenty-four hours of the day.

Rev 12:14-17

"But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place...So the serpent spewed water out his mouth like a flood after the woman...but the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out from his mouth."

Ex 19:4-"You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to Myself."

The woman symbolizes the nation of Israel who is given the wings of Isis when Moses and the fleeing Israelites take plunder (Ex 12:36) and religious motifs from Egypt as they escape through the parted Red Sea. The wings of Isis are represented by the wings of the Cherubim on the Ark of the Covenant.

Rev 13:1: the Two Beasts

"Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name."

The description of Yahweh as Yamm, the Beast from the Sea

John's theology is anti-Judaism. He believes the Jews are worshipping a false god just as Gnostic Christians claimed. Now historical evidence and careful reading of Scriptures show this to be true. Somewhere along the line Jewish scribes and priests elevated their tribal god, Yahweh, who's name was changed by EL Elyon, God Most High, from Yamm to Yahweh, to EL's position as God Most High.

-- The Sea can represent Yamm's domain or it can represent the Goddess: Her domain ruled by the Moon. Ishtar is the Babylonian name for the Great Goddess and Her primary symbols were the Moon, the Sea, and the planet Venus, the "Morning Star".

Ishtar's New Moon symbol was the Golden Sickle, i.e., for harvesting crops and representing the passage of time-(phases of the moon) like our Father Time image with his sickle and the Grime Reaper, (e.g Rev.14:17-19's "One like the Son of Man" with his sharp sickle).

-- Other Ishtar symbols were the serpent and dragon, the lion*, bulls, doves and quails, almonds and almond trees, acacia tree groves, oak or terebinth tree groves, white poplar trees, pomegranates, lilies, and all these symbolic plants and animals are prominently imbedded in the Hebrew religion and sacred cult objects, e.g: the serpent in the Garden of Eden.

The magic rod of Moses turning into a serpent that eats up Pharaoh's priest's serpent rods. Moses' fiery serpent rod, Rev's 12:9 "great dragon, that serpent of old". Jesus says for us to be "wise as serpents and harmless as doves".

-- Acacia wood for the ark of the covenant, -Joshua sets out from from Acacia Grove to cross the Jordan with all the children of Israel (Joshua 3)

-- Abraham's terebinth trees of Mamre (Gen 18) where the Lord spoke with him.

-- Jacob's magic poplar and almond rods in which he "exposed the white which was in the rods"-Gen 30:37. Jacob's sleeping on a stone pillow and having the ladder to heaven vision at Luz. "Luz" meaning almond, where Jacob changes the name to Bethel which meets the requirement of Rev 2:17 "white stone with a new name written on it".

Aaron's Rod sprouts almonds to show Israelites that he has the power of God behind him when Moses says he and his kin, the Levites are to be the priests of their new religion. Almonds are the shape ordered by God for the menorah with seven arm (seven planetary powers of the Goddess- Sun, Moon, Mars, Venus, Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter) candle (really oil lamps) stick holder- (See Rev 1:12-16 above).

-- Pomegranates and lilies being the shape ordered by God for decorations on High Priest Aaron's ephod, the tops of the pillars of Solomon's temple, the Shusan or "lily" gate of Solomon's temple, Jesus' lilies of the field that are arrayed greater than Solomon in all his glory (Matthew 6:28).

-- The magic quail appearance the night before Manna was found (Ex 16:13, Num 11:31) -note in 31:" a wind went out from the Lord and it brought quail from the sea" ( the sea being symbolic of the Goddess) to "feed" the Israelites.

-- Noah's dove signifying the Sea was receding so Noah's people can replenish the world. The Noah story is the later Hebrew version of the far older Sumerian and Babylonian Epic of Gilgamish where Ishtar and not Yahweh brings destruction to world by wiping it out with a Flood or Her great Sea. The Sumerian Great Goddess forerunner of Ishtar was named Iahu, meaning "Exalted Dove".

-- And, of course, "...and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. (Matthew 3:16). The dove alighting on Jesus shows God's choice for representing the Kingdom of God and the Promised Land.

See note on the symbolic meaning of Christopher Columbus' name where "Columbia" means "dove" and consider Columbia, home of the terrible White Goddess as cocaine ("partners with Cain"?) is sometimes described by addicts. But also consider the Columbia rocket shuttle too, where once again the Dove takes us to distant places..

* The ancients not only respected the power of lions but also thought the sound of the waves of the sea with power of the Goddess in storm sounded like the roar of a lion--see Luke 21:25's signs of 2nd Coming.

Rev 13:1: continued..

Yahweh=Yamm=Rahab=Leviathan=Tiamat. Tiamat is the Babylonian female twin of Yamm, the Canaanite god of the sea. Tiamat was the Sea-serpent, sea-monster representative of Ishtar when she was mad and showing men or upstart Gods who was boss but she lost the battle with Marduk, Ishtar's son who decided to take over the power of Ishtar and declare himself the ruler of the world, it's Lord or Bel or Baal. Bel being the masculine version of the Canaanite Goddess Belili who later became "Ashtoreth" (Hebrew for Canaanite Astarte who was the same as the Babylonian Ishtar and Isis in Egypt. Ashtoreth was worshipped in "Asherahs", i.e., in sacred groves).

Tiamat had seven heads. Rehab is the Hebrew name for Tiamat: Isaiah 51:9- "Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord! Awake as in the ancient days, In the generations of old. Are You not the arm that cut Rahab apart, and wounded the serpent?"

But then there's Rahab the good harlot that receives Joshua's spies and helps him and the Lord destroy Jericho. This story is a symbolism for another entry of Rahab and Goddess religious stuff into Israelite religion. So is the story of Esther (Hellenized Hebrew for Ishtar) and Mordacai (Babylonian for Marduk) saving the Jews in the Book of Esther.

Marduk, the Sun God and Babylonian City God, rides a white horse (see Rev. 19:11) (white stands for the Goddess as the Moon) and wields a sword that hacks Tiamat, Ishtar's sea representative, in pieces.

The ten horns with the ten crowns are the ten kingdoms that Moses gave in the Promised Land to ten tribes of Israel. See Joshua 14:2. The blasphemous name on the seven heads is either Ishtar, Ashtoreth, or the names of the seven planetary rulers. If the Tiamat/Ishtar Beast from the sea is also Yamm/Yahweh* then the blasphemous name is Yahweh instead of the rightful name EL Elyon, God Most High.

Rev 13:2

"Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority."

This vision of John is related to Daniel 7:2's vision with the leopard and bear's feet images. Leopards are like lions with spots. Spotted animals were "unclean" in Mosaic Law. There were two species which are now gone from the Middleast, the Syrian bear and the Syrian leopard.

I don't know if they were symbolic of Assyria or not, and Moses came out of Egypt symbolized by the Bull, who represented Isis and Egypt. However, it is Assyrian and Babylonian legal codes that Mosaic Law closely resembles. (Interesting to note: Elisha has two female bears maul 42(!) youths who catcalled him).

His "mouth like the mouth of a lion", Goddess animal again, also the Dragon, the Goddess symbolic creature that gives power to the Beasts.

Rev 13:3

"I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast."

(The following was my original interpretation before discovering Yahweh started off as Yamm, the Canaanite "Prince Sea")

The beast head "as if it had been mortally wounded" is the moon, the only one of the seven planetary rulers that can be seen to go through phases from new moon to full moon to old moon and then new moon again= the Goddess as nymph (child) New Moon, nubile or Full Moon, and crone, or Old Moon.

The Moon, representing the Triple or White Goddess, is Ishtar's symbol where She symbolically is born and matures and dies and is reborn each month: this is the meaning of the deadly wound that is healed.

The Goddess' New Moon symbol was the Golden Sickle, She used to harvest the crops. It also stood for the passage of time, life and death, e.g. our Father Time image and the Grim Reaper, each with their sickles. See Rev. 14:14-20. Because of the moon's apparent waxing and waning, birth to death to rebirth cycle, the moon is also a symbol of resurrection which connects Jesus to Her.

See Rev 22:16 below for another planetary way the Spirit of Jesus, without John's awareness, reconnects Christians to the Goddess, i.e., Her manifestation as Venus or the "Bright and Morning Star".

Now that I believe Revelation's Beast from the sea symbolizes Yahweh as Yamm, the obvious interpretation is that the "deadly wound" that was healed represents the head of Yamm that was changed to Yahweh.

Rev 13:4

"So they worshipped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshipped the beast, saying 'Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?'

"Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?" Only the Messiah could overthrow the authority of Moses and Mosaic Law.

Rev 13:5: The 42 Months

"And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months."

"...and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months". The number of Egyptian gods were 42. Hebrew religion was against polytheism in general and against Egyptian polytheism in particular which may show the influence of monotheist Pharaoh Akhenaton in Hebrew theology.

When one nation overthrew another in ancient times they also took over their religion and changed the religious myths to suit their own religious mythology. Each religion had its own sacred calendar of Holy days and festivals to regulate the people's lives. So conquering another nation also meant changing their calendars.

The Sumerian and Babylonians started the seven day week and the seven Year or Sacred Year calendar. The seven days were named after the seven planetary rulers and we still have some of them today, Saturn day, Sun day, Moon day, but the rest of our calendar days (Twi's day, Wotan's day, Fria's Day, etc.) show Germanic changes from the European takeover of Middle Eastern calendar systems after the fall of Rome.

The Babylonian year was divided into three "seasons" each symbolized by an animal- the lion for the first season, the goat for the second, and the serpent. The goat and the serpent become symbols for Satan while the lion is still honored, e.g., the Lion of Judah and the Lion of God (Ariel). See Rev 8:12 and 9:18's third part destruction which refer back to Zechariah 13:7-9 and secretly to this calendar system. The Hebrew calendar of Feast days also reflects this three-part division.

Another Babylonian Marduk myth has him slicing Sumerian forerunner of Ishtar, Iahu, in half at the Babylonian Spring Festival when he inaugurated the new world order (New Year). The slicing in half of the Goddess as a dove also symbolizes the takeover of the Goddess' calendar system, the Goddess' Sacred Year is sliced in half. Half of the seven year Sacred Year is 42 months.

In Egyptian mythology the God Set, who's representative animal was the donkey or ass, and who represented the second half of the year, annually murdered his brother Osiris, who's animal representative was the bull and who represented the first half the year. Egyptian myth has Isis watch from her emblematic date palm trees as Set disguised as a boar kills Osiris disguised as a bull. The second part of the year overcomes the first part.

This Egyptian imagery comes back again ("Out of Egypt" again) in the imagery of Zechariah's prophesy, (Zech 9:9), fulfilled by Jesus riding into Jerusalem on the foal of an ass and the people strewing the ground with palm branches.

The Egyptian God Set was introduced into Hebrew mythology as Seth, Adam's third son and youngest son and father of the continuing lineage from Adam leading to Abraham. Conquering and dividing the pagan year in two is symbolized by Moses dividing the Red Sea, (the Sea being a primary symbol of the Goddess), and leading his people out of captivity where he institutes the Hebrew version of the Sacred Year of seven years.

God, however, here in John's vision doesn't want either the pagan's or Moses' Sacred Year calendar, i.e., their state religious systems, so they're only allowed to symbolically reign for half of it, or forty-two months.

Jesus claims to preach the "acceptable year of the Lord"* (Luke 4:19, Isaiah 61:2). But Isaiah adds "and the day of vengeance of our God." (Is 61:3). And that is the difference between Judaism and true or Biomystical Christianity.

John's Revelation is a throwback in all respects to the Old Testament's God of Vengeance against pagan worshippers and there is salvation only for those new chosen people, the few Christian (Jews?), (only 144,000 out of the world population), who accept John's Christ with his "wrath of the Lamb!" (Rev 6:16).

Rev 13:6-7-8

"Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. And it was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. And all who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

Moses blasphemes God when he institutes the Mosaic Laws which violate the original Ten Commandments. He leads all the world (the world of Jews first and now the whole world through the historic power of traditional Christianity and Islam which still honor Moses as a prophet of Yahweh, the God of Vengeance, and not Jesus' Father, the Good Father, a God of Love, Compassion and Forgiveness for everyone who is walks the Way.

Rev 13:10

"He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints."

John thinks Christ is here to overthrow Moses and Judaism under Mosaic Law because Moses and and the Mosaic Laws violate the Ten Commandments. I think John believes Moses really lead the Israelites into another captivity-the Mosaic Law Codes.

John's Gospel is the only one that doesn't have the transfiguration scene of Jesus with Moses and Elijah and John is known to be the most anti-Jewish of the Gospels.

John's Gospel is also the most Gnostic one and Gnostic Jews hated Yahweh, the "Blind God" and usurper of the real Holy One's spiritual truth.

John wants Christ and Christianity to overthrow Judaism with its Moses and Mosaic Laws that are suspiciously familiar to Assyrian and Babylonian laws, e.g. the Code of Hammerabi.

And there is all the rest of the Jewish history of violation of the 10 Commandments. One of the most abominable of Jewish violations was high priest Joshua's "Herem" or total genocide of the Canaanites supposedly ordered by God. In prophetic vision Zechariah tries to have God whitewash Joshua (Zech 3) who stood "clothed in filthy garments" before the Angel of the Lord which the Lord then replaces with a "clean turban" and "rich robes".

The well-known bringing forth of "My Servant the Branch" verse is here as God lays before Joshua a stone with "seven eyes", i.e., seven prophets (see Isaiah 29:10 for the symbolic meaning of "eyes") who secretly represent the seven planetary rulers of the pagan pantheon carried over into Jewish religious symbolism.

John's Gospel and Epistles promote the God of Compassion and Forgiveness and Love but John's Revelation follows the same Christian schizophrenia that lurks in the other Gospel writings, perhaps following Jesus' own example, e.g. His requirement that we hate our earthly family to follow Him (Luke 14:26).

Christian Gospels say that God is Love and that God, through Jesus Christ, forgives sinners yet He doesn't really and kills or condemns to eternal hell those who don't believe in Him as per instruction by the Gospel writers just like He did to Israelites who didn't follow the Mosaic Law.

See Acts for examples of the Christian God killing unbelievers, and, of course, Revelation's total annihilation where only 144,000 "elect" are saved (12,000 representing each of the 12 tribes of Israel).

Rev 13:11

"Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon."

The second beast with two horns "like a lamb" coming up out of the earth symbolizes Moses. Aaron with his first two sons Nadab and Abihu who were later killed when they tried to copy Moses and Aaron when they brought fire down from heaven ( See below Rev: 13:13).

Aaron is consecrated High Priest by the miracle of his rod alone out of twelve sprouts buds, blossoms and ripe almonds. This symbolizes his connection back to the Goddess religion and I think his coming up out of the earth, i.e, an almond tree growing and his speaking "like a dragon".

Rev 13:12

"And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed."

He speaks for Yahweh in his presence and causes the people of the Covenant to worship Yahweh.

Rev 13:13

"He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men."

"And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of meeting, and came out and blessed the people. Then the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people, and fire came out before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces."

"Then Nabab and Abihu, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense in it, and offered profane fire before the Lord which He had not commanded them."... "So fire went out from the Lord and devoured them, and they died before the Lord. Then Moses said to Aaron, 'This is what the Lord spoke, saying: 'By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.' So Aaron held his peace."

-Lev 9:23, 10:3

Rev 13:14

"And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived."

Aaron makes the Golden Calf for Israelites to worship. The Bull was not only Egypt's symbolic animal representing Osiris, brother and husband of Isis, the Bull was also EL Elyon's totem animal. Originally Yahweh started off as Yamm and a Son of EL. The Golden Calf worship was really a throwback to the ancient Israelite worship of Yahweh, as Son to EL, hence the worship of the Golden Calf to represent Yahweh.

Rev 13:15

"He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image to be killed."

Giving "breath" into the image of the beast means giving it life like God did when He gave breath to Adam. Aaron gave life to the Goddess religion for the Israelites under Moses and was rebuked, but Moses gave life to the Goddess secretly. Apocalypse means "revealing what is hidden" which is what we are doing here now at in the End Times for patriarchal religions based on God the Father at war with God the Mother.

The Moses-Aaron team caused hundreds of Israelites in several incidences to die if they didn't believe in the God of Moses as he described Him and made His Laws and priest caste system. Not to mention all the killings of thousands of men, women and children of other lands slaughtered by Israelites and, not to mention all the millions of people Christians and Muslims have slaughtered through the centuries in the name of the God of the Patriarchs.

Cruel Mosaic Laws warped the Holy Spirit of the Father and God of Love and Compassion that Jesus was sent to introduce into the world to correct Moses and Elijah, Law-giver and Prophet of the Jews, which is the hidden meaning behind the Gospel's Transfiguration Scene- Jesus, between two sinners like He was on the cross.

John the Baptist with his call to repentance also can be seen as a call for Elijah to repent his use of God to kill Goddess worshippers in violation of the 10 Commandments. Jews and traditional Christians have never figured out that God is Holy One and indivisible. Just as it isn't possible to take the moon out the sky, it is impossible to kill the Female face of the Holy One. She will always return.

Rev 13:16,17- The Mark of the Beast: John's symbolic attack on the Shema of Judaism

Here is John's all out attack on Moses and Judaism as he labels the primary Shema invocation of Jewish worship the product of the Beast. It is amazing that most Christians do not know of the Shema, the most sacred prayer of Judaism.

They would begin to understand why Judaism stands opposed to Christianity except when political convenience makes the antagonism takes a back seat. Without knowing how John's Revelation attacks Judaism symbolically most traditional Christians remain ignorant of their own religion.

"And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."

Ex 13:9- "It shall be as a sign to you on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes, that the Lord's law may be in your mouth"

Ex 28:36-38: "You shall also make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, like the engraving of a signet (ring): 'Holiness to the Lord'. And you shall put it on a blue cord, that it may be on the turban; it shall be on the front of the turban. So it shall be on Aaron's forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things which the children of Israel hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall always be on his forehead.."

Dt 6:8: "You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes."

Dt 11:18: "Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes."

In ancient times most people couldn't write so they used signet rings to mark their "signatures" (from signet ring) in wax or clay seals on purchase contracts and other important documents.

"No one may buy or sell..." refers to the Year of Jubilee prohibitions: Lev 25:14,15- "And if you sell anything to your neighbor or buy from your neighbor's hand, you shall not oppress one another. According to the number of years after the Jubilee you shall buy from your neighbor, and according to the number of years of crops he shall sell to you."

Rev 13:18--666

"Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666."

"666" adds up to the number 9 in numerology. Nine stood for "death" in the Goddess religion. Revelations 144,000 saved souls also add up to nine. John is not all that clear on which beast is referred to in Rev 13:18. Since Aaron is really a shadow of Moses and it is Moses who stands as The Prophet of the Jews and is responsible for the Mosaic Laws, I think the 666 designation could apply to him. Moses' name numerologically adds up to 351 or 9. Also, Moses and Aaron are the leaders of the Hebrews who God itself won't allow into the Promised Land.

But there is the interesting 666 connection with Solomon in 2 Chron 9:13- "The weight of gold that came to Solomon yearly was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold." Solomon, too, brought fire down from heaven in sight of "all the children of Israel" (2 Chron 7:1-3).

Solomon enslaved thousands and he is known for extreme wealth, something Judeo-Christianity finds suspicious even if Solomon was also known for vast wisdom. Solomon's name numerologically adds up to 387 or 9. However, Solomon, although a Patriarch of immense standing in Jewish spiritual life, doesn't have the authority of Moses in Jewish history.

At one time, I also thought the 666 designation could be interpreted to apply to Elisha coming after Elijah. Threes (333) show up significantly in the miracles of Elijah: In his most famous miracle where he wins the contest between followers of Yahweh and followers of Baal, Elijah takes twelve stones (= the twelve months of the year-twelve signs of the Zodiac), and builds his altar to God.

After putting the wood on it and the sacrificial bull (Isis' animal), he digs a trench around the altar and orders four waterpots of water (= the four seasons, four directions) poured on the wood of the altar so it supposedly can't burn. Then he orders "'Do it a second time, and they did it a second time; and he said, 'Do it a third time,' and they did it a third time."(1 kings 18:34) (4 waterpots x 3= 12 again).

And in the story fire comes down from heaven on Elijah's wet altar while nothing comes to the altar of the priests of Baal. Elijah wins and has the four hundred and fifty priests of Baal killed.

Elijah was all set to call fire down for the third time and kill fifty more soldiers of the captains sent by Ahaziah, King Ahab's son, when the third captain gives up and bows before Elijah in 2 Kings 1:9-14. Fifty men plus one captain= 51 which is 6 in numerology, times three= 666.

In 2 Kings 1:8-10, after Elijah performs yet another miracle parting the Jordan so he and Elisha could cross over on dry ground like God parted the Red Sea for Moses, Elijah says to Elisha, "'Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?' And Elisha said, 'Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.' So he said, 'You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.'". And a chariot of fire appears and Elisha sees Elijah taken up into heaven by a whirlwind.

In numbers of miracles Elisha actually outperforms Elijah twelve to five. Elisha's double portion of spiritual power (333 x 2= 666) could be applied to Elijah's use of threes in his calling fire down from heaven.

Also the number forty-two shows up in both Elijah and Elisha stories (see Rev 13:5 above). Elisha has two female bears (see Rev 13:2 above for the bear connection) maul forty-two youths who mock him. (2 Kings 2:23,24). And in Luke 4:25 Jesus says "But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when heaven was shut up three years and six months (42 months), and there was great famine throughout the land."

But Elisha didn't bring fire down from heaven like Elijah did and neither one is associated with power over commerce as is the beast of Rev 13:16,17. And neither of their names add up to 666 or 9.

Another 666 candidate could be possibly be Nebuchadnezzar, the Babylonian tyrant who Daniel serves. In Dan 4:16 and 4:32-33 God drives Nebuchadnezzar insane to act like an animal and be driven away from men until he recognizes the God of Israel. But Nebuchadnezzar's name doesn't add up to 666 or 9.

For yet another interpretation of 666 see the Number of the Beast in my original Biomystical Religious Experience chapter which was my first interpretation of the meaning of Revelation's 666 twenty years ago. The popular traditional interpretation is that 666 applies to the Roman emperor Nero who also can be said to have brought fire down from heaven when he torched Rome.

The problem with the 666 symbolism is that it can be taken several different ways. To tell the truth I have no real confidence that my 666 candidates are any more accurate than others although I am convinced that John's 666 symbolism cannot be applied to figures of history after his time.

Efforts to see the beast and 666 in modern times is a waste of time because all of Revelation's symbolic imagery comes from Old Testament and pagan symbolic mythology.

Rev 16:13,14

"And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty."

This again refers back to Moses who is John's "false prophet" and one of the beasts. (See Rev 13 above) Frogs were one of the miracle plagues Moses' God inflicted on the Egyptians. Frogs were sacred totem animals to the Goddess Hecate, "Heq" in the Egyptian pantheon. The next verse in Revelations seems to be a later insertion as it doesn't connect with either Rev 16:14 or Rev 16:16 below.

Rev 16:15

"Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame."

Jesus coming as a thief means Jesus and Christianity has stolen the spiritual power of the Jews just as Hebrews stole the spiritual power of the pagans. Keeping one's garments lest one walks naked refers back to Noah and his youngest son, Ham.

Noah "walked with God" (Gen 6:9). Ham discovered Noah naked in his tent and told his older brothers Shem and Japheth who went back and covered Noah again. For seeing his nakedness Noah cursed Ham's son, Canaan.

But Ham is also the symbolic father of Egypt and North African nations. And in our times, Ham symbolizes the return of spiritual wisdom from the forgotten line of the cursed son of Noah. Ham's son, Canaan symbolizes the Promised Land.

Rev 16:16- Armageddon

"And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon."

"Armageddon" has two previously hidden symbolic and prophetic meanings. The first refers to the traditional interpretation of "Armageddon" as the area where the hill and city of Megiddo are situated, scene of several decisive battles in the ancient near east, but this time with a new meaning that points back again to Moses.

One of the things revealed now is that the founding father figure of the Hebrews, Moses, was modeled by the Old Testament writers from the Egyptian Thutmoses Pharaohs, especially Thutmose III, called the "Napoleon of ancient Egypt".

Moses and Thutmose III were contemporaries living in the same century. Just as the story of the baby Moses being placed in a reed basket and floated down the Nile was taken directly from the earlier (by almost a thousand years) legend of Sargon I, founder of the first Assyrian kingdom who also was said to have been placed in a reed basket and floated down the Euphrates river, so too with the name and authority of Moses being based on Thutmose III.

One of Thutmose' conquests was winning a decisive battle over the Assyrians at Megiddo in 1479 B.C. In Revelation the kings of the whole world gather at Armageddon but no actual battle seems to take place.

The famous Armageddon passage of Revelation was put there by the Spirit of God for us in these times of the Apocalypse or revealing what is hidden, to point back to Moses as a creation of Hebrew scribes, and a still deeper meaning that goes back to EL, the good Father, who's will Jesus followed and instructed us to follow his lead. But first let me relate how finding the meaning of Moses was reinforced by a "sign" from God.

As an example of how God "talks" with me with "sign language" or synchronicity events, here's what happened to show me God thinks this revelation about Moses and Thutmose III is important.

I was in the process of fleshing out my hundreds of notes collected over the years as I created these web pages. I was plowing through notes in my file folder about Jesus in which I had stuck notes about Moses and Jesus. After working through the pile of notes for a few hours I took a break and a long walk and went to a local shop to rent some videos to watch in the evening.

One of the movies I rented was The Mummy, the newest version starring Brendan Fraser. I come back home and start back to work on the notes. Soon I find a note about the Moses-Thutmose connection which became the basis for the paragraph written above.

Ok, I rented The Mummy movie and its silly plot about Egyptian mummies coming back to life so I thought here's a little coincidence going on. In the evening I watch the movie. Soon the plot takes us into the "Museum of Antiquities" in Cairo, Egypt in the 1930's where the movie's heroine, Evelyn, is the librarian working high up on a ladder between tall shelves of books.

She checking for books out of place and finds one and says, "Thutmose, what are you doing here. I'm going to put you where you belong.", and she precariously reaches across to the adjoining bookshelf and looses her balance. She tries to steady herself on the ladder but looses it and crashes into the shelf the Thutmose book was in and sends the whole high bookshelf tumbling back where it hits another bookshelf which in turn hits another like dominoes until all the bookshelves in the library are tumbled down with books strewn everywhere on the floor.

Reaching for the Thutmose book had quite an effect on the museum library and I expect the revelation that the figure of Moses could be based on Thutmose III and other legendary kings in the ancient near east will eventually topple many books in the world's libraries and centers of patriarchal religions. This is how God guides me with synchronicity experiences confirming my spiritual work.

The second hidden meaning for "Armageddon" is the word's Canaanite root meaning* "Har Mô ed" was translated into Greek as "Armageddon". It was the Canaanite name for the "Mount of Assembly", the site of the Divine Assembly over which the Canaanites' highest God, EL, presided. It is a heavenly "Armageddon" that marks the location of the final spiritual battle and the End Times for traditional Judeo-Christianity.

John's Revelation is a prophetic book but in ways that he probably never imagined as the Spirit of God works through his visions of the Apocalypse, the revealing of hidden meanings at the End Times of patriarchal religions.

* I wrote the above statements about the meaning of Armageddon before I learned about Israeli archaeological discoveries at Megiddo under Israel Finkelstein and Neil Silberman. Now Armageddon has really come! Read more about this at the Armageddon has already arrived! pages.

Rev 17:5- Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and of the Abominations of the Earth

The Whore of Babylon is the city of Babylon. It is not Rome or America or any other place but Babylon in ancient Babylonia. The Jews were exiled to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar and Revelation takes aim at Babylonian influence.

When you compare the Gospel of John, chapter 8 with its blatant anti-Pharaisic Judaism statements of Jesus with John the Revelator's symbolic anti-Judaism statement, e.g. "synogogue of Satan" and the symbolic attack on Judaism's god as the Beast, attack on Moses as the second beast, and attack on the Shema, the most holy prayer of Judaism as the Mark of the Beast, you realize John has a definite antagonism with Pharaisic Judaism that may or may not reflect the level of Jesus' antagonism with the same theology.

Pharaisic Judaism got its start during the Babylonian Captivity. It was after their Exile in Babylon that all Hebrews became known as "Jews". And it was during the Babylonian Captivity that scribes and priests compiled the Torah and began the Commentaries and Oral Law tradition and the rabbi traditions.

Jesus was a Torah Jew and John has separated Torah Judaism from Pharisaic Judaism. Revelation is stating this in symbolic form but the attack is against Babylon itself. No other city but Babylon where Jews in John's eyes ruined the spirit of the Torah that Jesus taught. Money, wealth became aspects of Jewish life and weren't questioned until radicals like Jesus demanded an accounting.

At the time of Jesus, there were wealthy Jewish religious leaders in Jerusalem living in mansions, getting rich on the Passover event bringing thousands of pilgrims each year. Money flowed into their hands while people like Jesus saw the poverty not being addressed by supposed men of God.

It all began in Babylon where the changeover from the spirit of the Torah became the legalism of first Pharaisic Judaism that became the Rabbinical Judaism of today where making money is honorable work to Yahweh and wealthy Jews are perfectly acceptable. Jews constitute the most privileged minority group in the world now, well represented within the 1% Super Rich who own and control our world.

Rev 20:1,2

"Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years."

This image comes directly from the Babylonian Marduk/Tiamat myth mentioned above. Marduk chained Ishtar as the Sea-goddess to a rock marking the overthrow of the Goddess in favor of Her son which symbolized the beginning of the New Year.

In Biomystical Christian spiritual symbolism, the chain represents the lineage of God's true line of compassion and hope played out in the lives of good people through the generations, each one linking to the next.

Rev 21:1

"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away."

This passage comes from Isaiah 65:17 and 66:22:

"For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind." and "For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before Me, says the Lord..."

Rev 21:16, 23: "New Jerusalem", the bride of the Lamb

"And the city is laid out as a square, and its length is a great as its breadth." "And the city had no need of the sun or the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it, and the Lamb is its light."

Revelation's "New Jerusalem" that descends down from heaven is the supernaturalized and magnified image of the Jewish Temple's Holy of Holies section.

The Holy of Holies, containing the Ark of the Covenant, and the Cherubim, was a cube as is the gigantic New Jerusalem version.*

The Holy of Holies was without light as is New Jerusalem.

As New Jerusalem, John's Christian vision opens up the Holy of Holies to the nations that previously only the Levite High Priest could enter once a year.

* Imagine a cube of crystal glass and jewels over 1400 miles to a side--I want an Environmental Impact Report on New Jerusalem before it lands on earth!

Rev 22:16

"I am the Root and Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star."

There can be little doubt that John knew the Morning Star symbolized Lucifer, the fallen angel. The Book of Isaiah is a constant reference in Christian writings and Isaiah had this to say about Lucifer in chapter 14:12- "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning."

Why then does John use Lucifer's representative star to symbolize Christ? Because the morning star is also Venus and represents the Goddess of Love, and God is Love*

* 1 John 4:8- "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love."

John has perhaps unknowingly cast the return of the Spirit of Christ into one of the primary symbols for the Goddesses Ishtar, Aphrodite, and Venus. Thus, John's Revelation unconsciously forecasts the End Times of patriarchal religions and prepares Christianity for the new revelation of Second Coming of the Spirit of Christ in female form representing God as Goddess, as the Goddess of Love symbolized by Venus, the bright and morning star.

The writer of 2 Peter 1:19 chimes in, "We also have the prophetic word made more sure, which you do well to heed as a light in a dark place, (i.e., the moon), until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts."

Ishtar's emblematic star was the Morning Star. In fact, "Ishtar" is the Babylonian name for the planet Venus, which is both the Morning and Evening Star of Jerusalem, carried in the names Shulmitu, the Morning Star, and Shalom, the Evening Star. It is to these two Venus gods that the Song of Solomon was written originally.
